Questions

Frequently asked questions.

Everything people usually ask before booking a portrait session in the Big Horn Basin.

How much does a portrait session cost?

There are two sessions. The Mini Session is $150 for 30 minutes, one location and 15 edited photos. The Standard Portrait Session is $200 for one hour, up to two locations, outfit changes and 30 edited photos. Both include a flash drive and a private online gallery.

How do I book?

Pick a time on my booking calendar, then pay the session fee on the Pay page to hold your date. If you would rather talk first, call or text 307-272-0931 or send a message through the contact page.

When is the best time of day for photos?

Most sessions happen in the last hour before sunset, when the light is soft and warm. In summer that can be late in the evening. Early morning works well too, especially in the canyon.

Where can we take photos?

Favorites include Porcupine Falls, the Devils Canyon area, Bighorn Lake, the high meadows of the Bighorn Mountains, and ranch and small town spots around Lovell. Your own home, ranch or field works great too.

Do you travel outside Lovell?

Yes. I regularly photograph clients in Cowley, Byron, Powell, Cody, Greybull, Basin and Worland, and I travel across the Big Horn Basin, northern Wyoming and southern Montana. Ask about longer trips.

What happens if the weather turns bad?

Weather reschedules are always free. Wind, smoke or a storm rolling in, we just pick a new date. I will watch the forecast with you the day before.

How long until I see my photos?

Your private, password protected gallery is usually ready in about two weeks. You can view it on any device and order prints right from it.

Do I get the digital files?

Yes. Your edited photos come on a flash drive, 15 with the Mini Session and 30 with the Standard Portrait Session. Extra digital downloads are available in the shop.

Can kids and pets come along?

Absolutely. Family sessions are relaxed and kids are welcome to be kids. Dogs are welcome too, and I also do pet portraits on their own.

How do I pay?

Session fees and print orders are paid through PayPal. You can use a PayPal balance, Venmo or any major card, and you do not need a PayPal account.

Who makes the prints?

Every print and wall piece is made by Miller's Professional Imaging, the professional lab I trust for color and quality. Shipping is a flat $12, or $30 for large fine art prints, and pickup in Lovell is free.

Do you photograph seniors in the Class of 2027?

Yes. Senior sessions are some of my favorites. The Standard Portrait Session gives you time for a few outfits and two locations, which is what most seniors want.
