A little prep makes a big difference on session day. Print this, screenshot it, or send it to the whole family group chat.
The week before
- Confirm the date, time and meeting spot with me.
- Lay out every outfit and check it in daylight.
- Iron or steam anything wrinkled.
- Get haircuts a week ahead, not the day before.
- Tell me about any must have shots, like grandparents or the family dog.
The day before
- Check the forecast with me. Weather reschedules are always free.
- Charge your phone so you can find the meeting spot.
- Pack a bag: water, snacks, hair ties, lint roller, wipes, a brush and a jacket.
Session day
- Arrive ten minutes early so nobody feels rushed.
- Feed the kids first. Hungry kids do not smile.
- Leave phones in the car or a pocket.
- Bring outfit changes on hangers if you booked the Standard Portrait Session.
- Have fun. The best photos happen when you forget about the camera.
For seniors
Bring a few props that say something about you: a letterman jacket, an instrument, a rope, your truck, your horse. Plan outfits from dressy to casual so we can change between locations.
For families with little ones
Plan the session around naps, not the clock. Bring a small reward for after, and let me handle the silly faces. If a toddler melts down, we take a break and try again. It happens at almost every session and it always works out.
After the session
Your private gallery arrives in about two weeks. You can order prints, wall art and keepsakes right from it.
